Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde, officially renamed Estádio Tubarões Azuis in 2026, is the national stadium of Cape Verde and the country's leading multi-purpose sports venue. Located in Monte Vaca on the outskirts of Praia, Santiago Island, the stadium officially opened in 2014 after construction began in 2010. With a seating capacity of approximately 15,000 spectators, it serves as the home venue of the Cape Verde national football team and hosts a wide range of sporting and cultural events.
Built to international standards, the stadium regularly stages international football matches, athletics competitions, national celebrations, concerts, and other large public gatherings. The venue features an artificial turf playing surface, modern athlete facilities, media and broadcasting areas, VIP seating, and spectator amenities designed to support national and international events. Renamed in honour of Cape Verde's national teams, known as the Blue Sharks, the stadium represents an important symbol of the country's sporting identity and development.
Its strategic location in Praia makes it a central destination for athletes, supporters, and visitors attending major events throughout the year. Estádio Tubarões Azuis continues to strengthen Cape Verde's reputation as a growing destination for sports tourism, international competitions, and community celebrations across West Africa.
